Event Prep

Support your athletes in overcoming race-day nerves with thoughtful preparation and engaging practice activities.

Event season is right around the corner for fall leagues.

Many student-athletes are about to participate in their first race for the season, or maybe their first race ever! When kids are nervous about races, we can support them with thoughtful practice planning and empathetic support. Telling our student-athletes “it’s OK to be nervous – it means you care” acknowledges that being nervous is a real part of the race experience. Equipping them with strategies to manage nerves and opportunities to practice race-specific activities like mass starts or grassy chicanes through the infield will build confidence and crank up the fun factor. Check out this great resource for planning pre-race activities for practice that are fun and engaging for all student-athletes!
